"EVERYTHING is OVER"

The first skit in episode 3 Season 1 of Portlandia has to be one of the Funniest Comedy Skits I've ever seen in my life, and this includes the all the great Saturday Night Live Skits over the years. In the skit, Fred Armistan is a ANGRY Grunge Hipster Cyclist with a Chin-Beard and Stretched Ear-Lobes. He really like this one Bar and tells people hanging there until he goes by the next day and sees a Clean Cut Straight-Laced guy who he does like the looks of. He sees the guy at the bar, tne says, "Oh man, this guys here? This place IS OVER!!!"
  Next day he sees the same guy with a fixed gear bike similar to his, He's bent outa shape, gets bad and tells the guy "Fixed gear Bikes are OVER." A few days later he see's the same guy guy with a Chin Beard, he's pissed and I'm sure you can guess what he tells the guy, "Chin Beards are OVER" !!!!
    One year passes and the formerly Clean-Cut Straight-Laced non-hipster guy has turned into a hipster with his fixed-gear-bike, a Chin-Beard and stretched-out-earlobes. He walks by the previously mention bar and sees the former Angry Chinbeared Hipster Cyclist sitting at the bar now Clean-Cut and Straight-Laced, he sigh and grunts and says, "Oh this Guys here? This place Is OVER"
   Funny as hell. I'm sure many of you have seen it, maybe you don't like, most love it. If you haven't seen it yet and you have Netflix, it's Season 1, Episode 3, and it's the first skit of this show. Or you can watch it on Youtube, just search "It's OVER Portlandia" and you'll get it

For years, many residents here have reacted with practiced apathy and amusement toward the national fascination with Portland. Outsiders and media critics have glowed over everything from its restaurants to its ambitious transit system of streetcars and light rail. Yet with “Portlandia,” the flattery has given way to mockery, however gently executed, of this liberal city’s deliberate differentness.

“When it makes fun of the aggressive bicyclists and things like that, well, that’s stuff I complain about, too,” said Amber Rowland, 27. “But then I’m part of what it’s making fun of as well. There’s a kernel of truth in it, and it’s O.K. to roll with it.”
