Most Important News of the Day "SKYFALL DIDN'T SUCK" !!!

Went to See Skyfall Last Night, The First Day in NEW YORK and The U.S. ... Like Most Hardcare "Bond Fans" I Wish Wishing and Hoping This the 23rd Edition of The Great Thing We Know and Love as Bnd Films.. I Like Millions of Other Fans was Waiting in Great Anticipation of "The Return of Bond" as it says in the ending credits of every Bond Filml, "James Bond Will Return" There's no question of a Sequel, Bond is a Franchise and you know there's always going to be aother Bond Movie, another Adventures, a New Evil Villain in a Quest for World Domination "Or Something Like That" and if need be, there's going to be a New Bond (actor Playing James Bond). And we got a New Bond 3 Movies ago in Daniel Craig. Craig's First Film was hugely anticipated as here we have a "New Bond" and Pierce Bronson had don a great job in his Bond Films. How was Craig going to be as Secret Agent 007? A very Big Question. Craig didn't disappoint, He Was Awesome in Casino Royale. The Movie Was Very Good as Well. We were all Happy. Then came Quatnum of Solace a "Big STINKER" It SUCKED, most would agree. So now we have Skyfall coming along and everyone is wondering, is it going to be a "Dam Good Bond Film" or a "Crappy Stinker Like Quantum" ??? Of course We were all "Hoping For The Best."

So Did SKYFALL Deliver you want to know? Yes and No! Yes ... It Delivered yes in the fact that it Didn't SUCK Like Quantum of Solace, which was thee Most IMPORTANT Thing this Movie Needed to Accomplish, "Just Don't SUCK." !!! It didn't and Thank God for That. Hoping for the Best from Skyfall, did we get it? Well, I wouldn't say we got the best, but we did get pretty goo. Not The Best, No I Didn't walk out of the Theater All Pumped Up and Supercharged like I saw a Great Movie. No, I did feel satisfied, entertained, I like the Movie and felt it was quite good. It was Bond and an Event, The First Night and all that, but this latest Bond Movie is "Far from Being Great or Oscar Worthy" as some writers and reviewers have coined it. Far from it! People like to jump-On-The-Band-Wagon. I'm Not, I tell it like It-Is! I wanted to and wish i could say SKYFALL was  great and Ranks Anong The Best Bond Films of All-Time like some have. The Problem Is, "It Isn't" wish it was but it's now. But what is Very Important is the "Fact" That Skyfall was Good and Din't SUCK Like Quantum, that would have been a Disaster. Let's be happy for that.
Skyfall does have a good number of the Elements that we love most about a Bond Film. The Movie starts with a great chase scene through the Streets of Istanbul that was quite good. The Skyfall Theme Song while not of the Caliber of Shirley Bassey, Nancy Sinatra, or Sheena Easton was pretty good, sung by Adele. The great Bond Theme Song and background music was good, but could have been used a bit more as it always excites and pumps the audience up.
There were Beautiful Woman but not used in the optimum as in the best and most Classic Bond Films and Best Bond Girls, a bit lacking in Skyfall. Lacking again in the Much-Loved Gadget Department. But one super great job of Pulling a Rabbit Out of The Hat was the appearance of Bonds Original Car The Famed DB5. Awesome! There was a joke by "M" about Bond pressing the Ejector Seat Button on her, and the audience roared when Bond used the specially equipped DB5's Machine Guns on The Villains.
And Yes, as always, there were Exotic Locales, includin; Shanghai, Istanbul, Macau, and London.
OK, they Overall Best Thing about Skyfall is, "It Didn't SUCK" !!!

BLOOMBERG SUCKS

F**KIN BLOOMBERG Did it Again. He Screwed Us. The People Who Live Downtown Manhattan, who have been without Electricity for more than 20 Hours Now and Will be again tonight and for who Knows How Long. Why Did He Screw Us?  BLOOMBERG and ASSHOLE? Simple? There are over 1 Million People without Electricity. We're in the Dark. "WHY THE HELL AREN'T THE BUSES RUNNING ASSHOLE?" Yes You MAYOR MIKE ! There Is Know Reason What-So-Ever that Bus Services could not have started by Noon. If so people would be able to get to work, to there jobs at Delis, Cafes, Grocery Stores, Restaurant, Bars, Whatever. If these Businesses were open, it would have made things a lot more bearable and easy in a Bad and Stressful Time. Instead of Helping by getting the Buses GOING, Bloomberg has exasperated an already tough situation for More Than a MILLION New Yorkers. He F**KED-UP, He SCREWED US. He's an ASSHOLE. You know he's gonna have a Bunch of Bull-Shit Excuses as to Why the Buses weren't Running Sooner and Making Life Easier on New Yorkers who are in a bad situation, No Electricity, No Lights, No TV, Nothing, "We're in The Dark" ! OK, Yeah I know, that's Not Bloombergs Fault. No. But what is his Fault is that He is supplying more than 1 Million New Yorker with "More Hardship." ASSHOLE! We would have had it much easier, and a day with Less hardship today if that ASSHOLE BLOOMBERG would have had the Buses Running today, instead of just sitting there "Doing NOTHING" they Could Have Helped People today. There's NO REASON for THIS! There has been NO BAD WEATHER What-So-Ever Today! None! In fact the weather was NOT BAD at all today. THE BUSES SHOULD HAVE BEEN RUNNING TODAY, "HELPING PEOPLE" both New Yorkers and the poor people who are here on Business or Pleasure (Tourist). You Could have made things a Lot "Better" for People instead of "Throwing Gasoline on The Fire" and making things WORSE For over a
MILLION NEW YORKER'S MIKE. Thanks a Lot ASSHOLE!

iPhone is 5 YEARS OLD Today

Five years ago today, Apple unveiled the original iPhone to the world. It wasn't a tightly kept secret, shrouded in mystery and speculation like more recent Apple announcements, but it was arguably the world's most anticipated gadget launch.
The Oriignal iPhone was launched with just a handful of Apple-Created Apps and a                2 Megapixel Camera for $499 for 4GB model and $599 for 8GBs. You could put and listen to Music on it, it was Your Cel-Phone of course, you could take pictures with it, it had a calculator, Clock, and you could "Surf The World Wide Web" Revolutionary at the time. A phone that could do all these things. Though the web browsing at the time was quite slow, still you could do it, on your phone, and talk to people, and Text, and listen to music, and take and Store Pictures.
Evenually the Camera ould get better and better (Much Better), you be able to take and make pretty good videos, you get and need much more storage, the browser became Faster and the number of Apps increased to a Half Million of Games, Tools, Music, (business, Picture and Video Editing, Newspaper Magazine and Tv Apps, all sorts of things) many for Free or so cheap at just .99 cents that they were almost free.

So what you now have with the iPhone 4 is a Mini Computer that is Multiple Times more powerful than that (Computer) on the Apollo Spacecraft that journeyed to the Moon. All this, the Apps and a Cel-Phone too. All in the palm of your Hand.

Chinatown Tea Rice and Fortune Cookies

A Bowl of Roast Duck Wonton Soup and Chinese Tea. Lunch on a brisk Winters day in January. Lunch at The Canton Kitchen, 171 Hester Street, New York, Chinatown. Tasty roast duck with nice pork Wontons and some satisfy broth. A piece of Bol Choy.
The waitress hands me a tray with my check and a Fortune Cookie. Quite curious to see what it will say. Will it bring me Good Luck for this whole year to come? 363 and a half days to go. I break the cookie in half and pull out my Fortune. "Your life will be Happy and Peaceful." Boy do I wish this will Come True. Life thus far has been anything but, especially the happy part. Sorry to say, but the Truth is the Truth. Let's not Candy-Coat things. Well I do hope the Year turns out to be a Happy one for me, for once. Let's hope.
2011 certainly ended horribly.Far from peaceful and ....

NEW YORK'S GREATEST FOOD DEAL ... "The DOLLAR DUMPLING"

A little bit of Serendipity on the Lower East Side of Manhattan yesterday. I needed to buy a few items down on Eldridge Street yesterday. This wasn't my only reason for jumping on the F Train at West 4th Street near my apartment. No I usually try to couple things together, and my reason for picking that particular store I was going to, was that it was just a block away from favorite Dollar Dumpling Joint, "Prosperity Dumpling" on Eldridge, 2 blocks North of Canal Street.
I hadn't been down there in a few months and I was jsut dying for some of those tasty Dumplings, and especially at just a Buck a Pop per order. Without a doubt, thee Greatest Food Value per for your money in the whole of New York City, hell, maybe even the country. And I've been extolling these virtues for several years now, and was the first to report on Prosperity on Eldrige while everyone else was just riding the #1 Dumpling - Vanessa Dumpling Band-Wagon.
I discovered Prosperity Dumpling one early evening about 3 1/2 years ago after strolling around a bit after my haircut from the Chinese ladies on Eldridge. It was Love at First Bite, and has been Luv ever since.
So last night I hop on the F Train. At first I was planning on getting off at the East Broadway stop, but at Delancy & Essex I jump off the train there. Figured I'd take a little extra walk and exploration before heading over to Prosperity, but then I was walking on Clinton, checking things out, and what do I stumble upon? Prosperity Dumpling! Wow, I couldn't believe it. They opened a branch on Clinton Street. Awesome.
Well, I continued walking around a bit. Exploring. Then decided to have my Dumplings at the new joint instead of the original down on Eldridge. I ordered a order. Just one order, I figured i walk down to the store, then have another order down on Eldridge. Got them. They were Yummy of course, and I needed more. I order wasn't enough, so ordered 4 more.
They hit the spot, and the second order did the trick. I had my fill, and just for Two Bucks. Yes $2.00 for two orders of tasty home-made Pork Dumplings. You can't beat that with a stick.
Just one problem. People at Prosperity Dumpling, when are you gonna open a shop in the West Village, somewhere near Houston and McDougal Streets? Please? We need One!

MY First LEBOWSKIFEST .......August 16, 2011 New York Live with Jeff Bridges, John Goodman, John Turturro

screen-shot-2016-12-22-at-6-50-47-pm   BIG LEBOWSKIFEST  August 16, 2011       Hammerstien Ballroom, August 16, 2011,  Fans of Jeff Bridges and the Greatest Cult Movie of  All-Time, The "BIG LEBOWSKI" were treated to a special treat last night in New York City. It was the First Ever Cast Reunion of the Major Players of the Coen Brothers Masterpiece.     On hand for a Q&A prior to a World Premier Screening of the Big Lebowski Blueray Special Addition, were none other than the DUDE Himself, "Jeff Bridges," his sidekick Walter "John Goodman" and New York Actors of the cast; Steve Buscemi (Donny), Julianna Moore (Maud), and  "The Jesus," John Turturro .... Musical Director, Tbone Burnett was also on hand as he and Jeff Bridges are in Town to promote Jeff Bridges first album to coincide with the Lebowski Blueray release. Some Full-On Promotion. Burnett produced the album.       Well there was a lot of energy in the air, 5,000 Urban Achievers and Amateurs, many dressed as their favorite characters; most of which there were many a "Dude," a bunch of "Walters," Maude's, a few "The Jesus's,"  I saw one Cowboy Stranger (ala Sam Elliot), no Milionaere Lebowski's, a few "Donny's," No Jackie Treehorn's, but a Few Nylist's, and no Bunny Lebowski's.      Anyway, the costumes were all great, but most of all was the energy and Good-Time-Dude-Mood filled the Air. It was electrifying.      As for the festivities. The Q&A was a bit of a Let-Down, I'm very sorry to say, Being such a Biog Lebowski Fan, Lover of the movie and such wonderful actors as Jeff Bridges and John Goodman. The Q&A didn't hit it on the mark, and was not as great as I thought it would be. It was a bit Flat, but I enjoyed it never-the-less, just to be able to see Jeff Bridges, Julianna, John Goodman, Buscemi, Tbone, and John Turturro Live and on stage together was enough for me and any True Fan of the Dude, despite its shortcomings, "We All Loved It."      At first, I was thinking about leaving after the Live stuff and not watching the Screening of the Movie. I've seen it 30 times. But  I stepped back and though, hey you don't do this every day. Here i am with thousands of other like-minded fellow "Achievers." I can't let this moment pass me by. I just gotta watch the Big Lebowski with 5,000 Fellow Lebowski-Heads. So I stayed. And glad i did. It was a blast, and all Rocky Horror Picture Show, thousands screamed out all the famous lines; "Shut the Fuck Up Donny," Got Any Kahlua?, "What About the Fuckin Toe?," "He Fixes the Cable?," What Coitus?, You brought a Pomeranian Bowling?, "It Really Tied the Room Together," "He Peed on Your Fuckin Rug," "Obbiously You're Not a Golfer, and on and on. It was hilarious, a Great Time, and a way for 5,000 Dude Lovers to forget about the Stock Market, The Shitty Economy, and any other of their troubles. "The Dude Would."
